Gahavar Van is where Radharani would come with Her Sakhis or when She wished to be alone. Even Krishna was not allowed to go there without the permission of Radha rani or Gopis. But once Krishna decided to sneak into Gahvar Van dressed as a Gopi. But soon enough Lalita & Vishakha identified him and then he was tied to a tree there and punished by Radha rani. The rasik saint Nagaridas ji resided here whilst he composed paeans about the lilas of Shyama Shyam. Swami Haridas has also described the lilas at Gahavar Van in his compositions.

Gahvar means “deep”,”dense”,inaccessible”and “secret”. True to its name, this place is dense forest thick with tress, creepers, groves(keli-kunj) and Priya-Priyatam’s sweet and intimate pastimes. It is shaped like a conch. Situated here is a sitting-place of vallabhacarya, where he recited Shreemad-Bhagvat, Radha-sarovar and a raas-mandal. Here, one can also see the places where many bhakts performed their bhajan.
